What to Say

Use this section to understand how to respond to a survivor when they share their story of sexual and/or gender-based violence.

In our collaboration with the team at The Mithra Trustwe came up with a series of "What to Say" guidance notes across a range of different languages.

If you’re talking with someone who has survived a sexual assault are not quite sure what to say, this might help.

Remember to:

listen with empathy

suspend judgement

talk from a place of love

get the right kind of help.
